French Roulette Wheel and Table

Like the European wheel, the French roulette table has 37 pockets and a green zero pocket. The rest of the numbers are represented in red and green. The color pattern of the single zero game wheel is not the same as the American game.

The French table layout differs from its cousins because it is written in French, but tables are rarely translated into English. It would help if you studied the table to know that Manque/Passe means Low/High bets, Impair/Pair is Odd or Even bets, and so on.

Play Roulette in French

In French-style roulette, we look at two differences that include the La Partage and En Prison rules. We define both for you to understand the game better. Firstly, La Partage is what we call “dividing or sharing”.

This rule says that all even money bets are split in half if the ball lands in the zero pocket. So, half of the initial wager will go to the house while the other half is given to the player.

En Prison is translated as “in prison” rules involves land-based casinos and not so much at online French roulette. The croupier puts a marker above all even-money wagers when the zero is spun in the game. That means the even money bets are “imprisoned” for the next spin of the wheel.
